Culture of Corruption

Via Jammie Wearing Fools
President Obama claims that political considerations did not influence the Energy Department’s green energy loan program, but newly-released internal emails show that his administration subsidized Nevada companies in order to help Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., win his 2010 reelection campaign.
The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee released emails revealing both that the White House — including the president himself — was involved in approving loans to green energy companies and that the DOE officials regarded loans as a way for the White House to help Reid by giving him a way to brag about bringing federal money into Nevada.
Now just imagine the media's reaction if this were 2004 and the story involved Bush and oil companies.

New Campaign Ad

The Romney Campaign's latest ad highlights the billions in taxpayer dollars Obama wasted on Solyndra and other companies that subsequently failed. Companies that also happened to be backed by big Democratic donors.

In related news, Obama's Bain attacks continue to backfire, as the Administration struggles to explain the difference between private equity and Obama's public equity model.

2010 Obama v. 2012 Obama

Discussing Solyndra.

So Obama now claims that Solyndra wasn't his administration's program, per se?  Of course, they were involved enough to pressure Solyndra into postponing planned layoffs until  after the November 2010 midterm elections.

Obama's "Affordable" Green Light bulbs

The U.S. government last year announced a $10 million award, dubbed the “L Prize,” for any manufacturer that could create a “green” but affordable light bulb.
Energy Secretary Steven Chu said the prize would spur industry to offer the costly bulbs, known as LEDs, at prices “affordable for American families.” There was also a “Buy America” component. Portions of the bulb would have to be made in the United States.
Now the winning bulb is on the market.
The price is $50.
Remember, these are the same people promising everyone "affordable" health care.
